Customise Your Computer
There are many ways in which a computer can be set up to help aid you with your specific difficulties. Here are a few suggestions that may help.- Contrast: To change your display so that it has more contrast simply:
Click Start >Settings >Control Panel >Accessibility Options
Select the 'Display' tab at the top of this window.
Tick the 'Use High Contrast' box.
Click 'Settings' to the right of the tick box.
Select the Contrast Colour Scheme that best suits you then click 'OK'.
Click 'Apply' followed by 'OK' to complete the process.
- Magnifier: Windows offers a 'magnify tool' to aid with reading the screen.
Click Start >Programs >Accessories >Accessibility >Magnifier
You can select the level of magnification at the top of this window.
You can also inverse the colours, or use high contrast if that best suits.
- Accessibility Wizard: Windows also offers a variety of options that can help people of varying disabilities. This can be found through clicking:-
Start >Programs >Accessories >Accessibility >Accessibility Wizard
and following the instructions.
